About

Explorer, Photographer, Scientist

Iā€™m Chaz. I am the photographer behind the lens. I've grown up and lived in the Greater Yellowstone area my entire life. My love for this area runs deep. It started at an early age, with my grandpa taking me on summer camping and fishing trips to Island Park, ID. His love for the great outdoors resonated to me and inspired me to go to University of Idaho. There, I received a B.S. in Ecology and Conservation Biology. Since then, I've worked as a fish culturist, at multiple hatcheries, helping to conserve native fish stocks like Spring-run Chinook Salmon, and Snake River Cutthroat Trout.

My love for nature goes hand in hand with my love for photography. I took many an image, with the family point and shoot film camera, during our yearly trips to Yellowstone and Grand Teton. During my first semester of college, I finally got my first Nikon DSLR and I became a photo shooting fool. I've learned a lot from that time on. I've become more technical, creative and even have better gear now. I take my camera everywhere I go, as I've found you never know when you'll have an opportunity for a great shot.

With all this knowledge I've gained, I would like to share it with others. Through my photography, I hope to inspire people to be more conservation minded and and teach them why it is important to preserve the last remnants of the wild.
